Known as a login request, this step is triggered when a procurement system (such as SAP Ariba PunchOut, Oracle PunchOut, or Jaggaer eProcurement PunchOut) requests access to the supplier’s PunchOut catalog. This enables the buyer to enter the store and begin shopping directly within their eProcurement platform.

Once inside the PunchOut-enabled store, customers browse and add products as they normally would. When their selection is complete, the cart is transferred back to the procurement platform for approval. This transaction, known as a PunchOut Order Message (POOM), is key to ensuring seamless integration with solutions like Ariba PunchOut, Oracle PunchOut Plugin, and Jaggaer PunchOut Catalog.

After internal validation within the eProcurement system, an official PunchOut Order Request (POOR) is issued. This action sends the finalized order details back to the supplier’s PunchOut store for fulfillment.
